MestReNova: THE FUTURE OF NMR



MestReNova is the natural evolution of the very popular application MestReC. However, it is a lot more than a new version of MestReC. Whilst including all the NMR processing and analysis functionality present in MestReC, it is a completely new concept which will open up a new dimension in NMR software, the MestReNova dimension.

MestReNova will change the way in which scientists process and report NMR data. It will also open up a whole new range of possibilities when storing and sharing data within organizations. MestReNova has being designed to make NMR both more convenient and more powerful, and to give the user improved results with minimum effort.

MestreNova is the ideal tool for the less expert NMR user. Anyone who can use MS PowerPoint will be able to quickly learn MestreNova. On the other hand, it is also ideal for the expert user as, in addition to implementing a wealth of advanced processing options, it allows users to create their own processing scripts.


CONTAINER - PLUGIN ARCHITECTURE

The software is built with a Container – Plugin architecture. The first plugin in NMR, but this architecture will give us the potential to insert plugins for NMR prediction, chemical structure drawing, LC/MS, CG and many more. It will also allow our users and other developers to insert other applications in the MestReNova interface, thus integrating their software solutions into a common, powerful and user friendly architecture.

The software is also multipage and includes a navigation bar with thumbnails, giving users total flexibility in the organization of their data. Thus, different experiments for the same sample can be saved in the same document, together with molecular structure and predicted data and, in future, spectra from other experimental disciplines.

THE END OF PLATFORM DISCRIMINATION

MestReNova is a multiplatform application, with versions running on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. From now on, multiplatform laboratories will be able to allow each researcher to work on their Operating System of choice, and to seamlessly share data and processing capabilities with any other researchers working on different platforms. There is no longer a need to have three different software packages, and three different file formats, for different Operating Systems.
